Project Spotlight: Atlanta Interior Design Photography – Capturing Elegance at Porsche
As a full-time auto enthusiast and lover of cars, when I was offered the opportunity to photograph a new Porsche dealership in Atlanta I couldn’t reply yes fast enough. For an interior design and retail photographer, this was the ultimate canvas—a space where architecture, lighting, and high-performance vehicles converge and where sleek design and luxury intertwine seamlessly. Unsurprisingly, the completed images from this project quickly made their way to my portfolio to highlight my work as an Atlanta interior design photographer and retail photographer.
While most of my focus for this project was on the interior, I did capture two images of the exterior. As one would expect from a luxury retail brand, the exterior was sleek and modern with beautiful lines…just like the vehicles they sell and maintain inside. For these shots, it was all about timing the light to highlight these features.
Walking into the Porsche dealership is like stepping into a modern-day gallery. Every detail—from the polished floors to the minimalist furniture—is meticulously curated to complement the cars’ elegance. My goal was to translate this high-end experience into images that not only captured the physical space but also conveyed the brand’s identity.
The showroom boasted an open lobby with TV walls, iPads, and of course cars. There was also a café, with plenty of Porsche merchandise to buy, and a classic Porsche area to learn more about the history of the car company. I loved the lines and light coming into this lobby. It provided many opportunities to capture different perspectives, all while being able to utilize natural light. I focused on these architectural and design elements to create a cohesive visual narrative. By integrating the dealership’s design with the vehicles on display, I aimed to emphasize the synergy between the space and the product.
Beyond the showroom, I focused on the dealership’s interior design elements—areas like the customer lounge, reception desk, and service bays. These spaces are integral to the overall customer experience, and I wanted my photos to highlight their luxurious yet welcoming vibe.
It wasn’t about just using a wide-angle lenses to showcase the spatial layout and symmetry of the service bays, but also ensuring that each image included finer details like textured finishes, branded elements, and high-quality materials. Capturing these subtleties added depth and dimension to the portfolio, emphasizing that luxury extends beyond the vehicles.
Photographing a space like a Porsche dealership isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about reflecting the brand’s essence. Porsche is synonymous with innovation, performance, and elegance. With every shot, I aimed to underscore these qualities, whether it was through the dynamic angles of the cars in the spaces or the sleek modernity of the interior.
Post-processing was the final step in bringing the images to life. This involved fine-tuning the colors to ensure the Porsche branding’s signature tones were accurately represented. I enhanced contrast and sharpness to highlight details, all while maintaining a natural look for the overall composition.
Photographing the Porsche dealership was a rewarding experience as it was an opportunity to merge interior design and retail photography with the prestige of an iconic brand. Through careful planning and a keen eye for detail, I was able to create images that tell the story of luxury, innovation, and design—hallmarks of both Porsche and the space it inhabits.
