Rustic Mountain Luxury at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch
Located right at the base of Bachelor Gulch at Beaver Creek mountain, the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is a throwback to the classic mountain lodges of old. However, it has everything that you’d expect from a Ritz-Carlton property. The lobby is fantastic, the rooms modern and luxurious, delicious food, and of course an incredible staff. While known for its amazing skiing and winter activities, I was fortunate to visit in the summer and enjoy the rustic mountain luxury at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch.
With 180 rooms and over 40 suites, there are options to choose from when staying at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. However, one doesn’t stay for the rooms at this property, it is all about the experiences. As I visited in the summer, some spectacular hiking and biking is at your doorstep. A naturalist can highlight the best trails for you and help to organize a hike based on your ability, what you’d like to see, and top it off with a delicious picnic lunch. During my stays at the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, I hiked to the top of Bachelor Gulch mountain and enjoyed some amazing views of the surrounding mountains.
It is not just the activities that make a stay at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch a must for any visitor to the mountains of Colorado. The food is incredible. Whether grabbing a bite at Buffalo’s or reserving a private “raclette” dinner at Anderson’s Cabin, the 5-star cuisine is perfect after a long day of activities. Another food option for guests is on the Club Level. I was fortunate to stay on the Club Level and thus had access to a lounge with a full breakfast, snacks throughout the day, hot food around lunch and dinner time, and a nice alcohol selection. The cookie jars at the entrance are definitely a hit – I can confirm I definitely ate way too many!
To top it off, the full-service spa at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch is incredible. The peaceful, inspired by nature setting immediately puts you into a place of relaxation. I spent some time in the spa pools before enjoying one of the best massages I’ve ever had. I highly recommend a rejuvenating massage as it prepares you for another day of activities.
Summer mountain getaways are just as enjoyable to me as winter mountain getaways. The temperatures are perfect and there are so many activities that a few days isn’t really enough to get to experience them all. Located right on the mountain, the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch is the place to stay, sport, dine, and relax while enjoying the Colorado mountains in the summer.
