Project Spotlight: Atlanta Interior Design Photography – Photographing the new RangeWater Office Space

One of my favorite parts of being an architectural and interior design photographer is the variety of spaces that I get to photograph. Every design firm has their own unique style both in terms of the look of the design but also how they want their photographs. When the team at IA Interior Architects reached out to photograph the new RangeWater office space that they designed, I immediately said yes as I have been an admirer of their work for years.

The first thing that I noticed about the space was the staircase. Backed by a wood paneled wall with modern finishes the staircase really stood out and I knew we would need at least a few angles that highlighted all the design features. In collaboration with the IA team on-site, we settled on three different images. One from the top of the stairs with no people activation in the image so that the staircase, back wall, and light would stand out on it’s own. The other two images were from the bottom of the stairs and showed how the staircase fit in with the rest of the space.

Of course there was more to Interior Architects’ design than just the staircase. The two floors were highlighted by open collaboration spaces with beautiful glass walled conference rooms. The conference room right off the entrance lobby had seating along with a small break area. Shooting out from the conference room so you could see the rest of the lobby area was a challenge with all the glass reflections and light. One of the favorite parts of my job is these challenges and working through them to deliver a clean image no matter the lighting situation. I also really like the shot and perspective of the two people walking past the conference room from the elevator lobby. The downstairs conference room was off the main café area with a small gaming space for when employees needed to take a break. This was a fun one to stage and shoot!

IA Interior Architects paces are always so well thought out and designed. The office for RangeWater is no exception. It was a pleasure to collaborate with the team on-site to really fine-tune each image so that it best represented their vision for not only the entire office, but each individual space.
