Project Spotlight: Greenville Interior Design Photography – Photographing Dockside Clemson
Early in 2024 I had the opportunity to photograph the new Dockside Clemson, a student housing complex for Clemson University Students for Dement Designs. Even though I am based in Atlanta, GA, I consider myself a Greenville, SC interior design photographer due to the cities close proximity to one another. I have been fortunate to photograph a number of projects in Greenville, but this was my first-time experiencing Clemson and the surrounding area. Dockside Clemson is an amazing property with gorgeous spaces and amenities that make me wish I was just a few years younger and getting ready for college now.
As soon as you walk into the main building you know that this isn’t your average off-campus student housing. A well-designed concierge desk is staffed during daytime hours to ensure students needs are met. Once past the concierge desk the lobby area has comfortable bench seating, private study carols, and a variety of other tables and chairs that are available for students looking to get work done and collaborate on projects. And for those students needing a break from all their hard-work, a pool table and multiple tv’s are available for group hangouts.
One of my favorite spaces in the complex was the fitness center. The design of the space with the archway creates a welcoming environment to get your workout in. Modern equipment and a yoga, or private classroom, complete the gym and give students a wonderful space to ensure that they stay in shape.
Since the building is student housing, I would be remiss if I didn’t at least get back to all of the areas designed for learning (and play). There are multiple spaces on each floor so students have the ability to find a private, and quiet, space to study for finals or write a term paper. If they need a break, there are lounges with games, foosball tables, kitchens, tv’s and more.
Off-campus student housing has changed greatly over the years. Students expect more amenities and nicer facilities. Dement Designs delivered on this, and more, with the Dockside Clemson. I can’t wait to go back and photograph the exterior of this property with its outdoor seating and lake amenities!
